Difference between Reservation and Booking

Booking is a synonym of Reservation. But, as nouns the difference is that  Booking  is the act or process of writing something down in a book or books, for instance in accounting.We say BOOK KEEPER for Accounting job and BOOKING CLERK for someone who arranges and lists passage for persons, baggage and goods. While reservation is the act of reserving or withholding a something.

Example:

1. The booking clerk assured me for my flight. ( Not reservation clerk )
