Between Difference ‘Travel’, ‘Trip’ and ‘Tour’

Travel as a noun is a general word, meaning to move from one place to place, usually over long distances. Some examples are ‘space travel’ and ‘travel agency’.

Trip describes the whole process of going somewhere and coming back. Some examples are ‘day trip’, ‘a round trip’ and ‘business trip’.

Lastly, Tour is a full experience. It describes travelling from one place to another over a period of days, just like visiting various towns / cities. Some examples are ‘tour packages’ and ‘Asian tour’.

Examples sentences :

1. He has gone on a business trip to Germany.

2. Space travel is now possible because of space exploration technologies.

3. It is so lovely to have a tour with your friends on a spring afternoon.
