On cloud nine 

Meaning: Extremely happy or elated.

Example: “She was on cloud nine when she got the job offer.”

Down in the dumps

Meaning: Feeling sad or depressed.

Example: “He’s been down in the dumps since his best friend moved away.”

Biting off more than you can chew

Meaning: Taking on more responsibility than one can handle.

Example: “I think I’m biting off more than I can chew with this project.” 

Butterflies in your stomach

Meaning: Feeling nervous or anxious.

Example: “I always get butterflies in my stomach before giving a big presentation.”

Walking on eggshells

Meaning: Being very careful not to upset someone.

Example: “Ever since the argument, I’ve been walking on eggshells around him.”
