Common Titles
- Mr. /mister/ : for men, regardless of marital status, who do not have other professional or academic title
- Mrs. / misiz /: for married women who do not have other professional or academic title
- Miss /mis / : for girls, unmarried women who continue to use their maiden name. In the UK, it is used to address female teachers, regardless of marital status.
- Ms. / miz / : is a title of respect before a woman’s name or position that does not indicate her marital status.
